Why EVER Eat Pop Tarts When You Can EET Krispy Kreme DONUTS !

Donuts are a staple of Mr. EET’s diet.  LOVE LOVE LOVE EM!  I have lost weight EETing them because I know how to time em and I know they are better for you in many ways than MANY OTHER FOODS CONSIDERED HEALTHIER TOO!  (click to enlarge)

Up for a treat?  How about a Pop Tart?  It’s light and quick and certainly healthier than most “junk food” you can grab on the go, right?

Not if you’re interested in EETing what you love and LOSING WEIGHT!

As the above EET Fitness nutritional TIMING label clearly shows, A Krispy Kreme donut stacks up very nicely vs a Pop Tart.  The lower carbs can make a huge difference in blood sugar which can effect weight loss for everyone and health for diabetics.  There is a slight increase in saturated fat for the Donut vs the Pop Tart, but, for most, the Donut is so much more decadent and satisfying that there really is no comparison as far as EET is concerned.

LOVING YOUR FOOD COUNTS WHEN IT COMES TO MAKING FOOD CHOICES FOR WEIGHT LOSS AND MANY PEOPLE LOVE DONUTS!

As far as EET is concerned, the only real question is should Pop Tarts look even WORSE compared to Krispy Kreme Donuts because 1 Donut is a reasonable treat — most could NEVER stop at one Pop Tart, which is the “serving size” on the box.

If 1 Pop Tart is the serving size, WHY DO THEY PUT THEM IN FOIL POUCHES IN PAIRS OF 2??

So, a reasonable person would DOUBLE ALL OF THE ABOVE NUMBERS FOR POP TARTS — that puts them at 400 calories and 76 Carbs!

MORE GAMES FROM THE WORLD OF “EATING HEALTHY” — ORGANIC TOASTER PASTRIES

Weight Loss and health gurus all over the place are chasing “organic” foods, and there may be some good reasons to do that–

BUT

WEIGHT LOSS IS DEFINITELY NOT ONE OF THEM!

Check out this “healthy looking” Nature’s Path organic version of Pop Tarts sold at stores like Trader Joe’s and other “Whole Foods” sort of places.  THE NUTRITIONAL DATA IS ALMOST EXACTLY THE SAME AS KELLOGG’S POP TARTS!

But I’ll bet dollars to Donuts (I’m sticking with Donuts whenever possible! 🙂 ) that the organic brand costs a whole lot more.  So your pocketbook is getting thinner, but, sadly, you’re not.

PARTING SHOT ON POP TARTS

There is one variety of Pop Tart’s that really caught my eye — HOT FUDGE SUNDAE.  ICE CREAM SHOPPE spelled with a fancy “E” on the end and everything!

Now THAT sounds good to me!  Lotsa cool colored sprinkles and chocolate swirls all over it.   It’s still a pop tart in the end so I chose a Donut, but that’s not the story (always fun to talk about EETing donuts though!).  The story is the following two points:

1)  The Hot Fudge Sundae Pop Tart has LESS 10 FEWER CALORIES AND 5 FEWER CARBS than the Blueberry Pop Tart — WOW– would certainly think healthy Blueberry Pop Tarts “Baked with Real Fruit” as it says on the package are healthier than a Hot Fudge Sundae Pop Tart.  Guess not.

2)  On the front of the Hot Fudge Sundae Pop Tart Package it says 25% Less Sugar in bold print.  Then below that it says in the smallest print you can still read “Than Leading Toaster Pastries”.   The leading Toaster Pastry they are talking about is THEIR OWN BLUEBERRY POP TART which has 17g of sugar vs the Hot Fudge Sundae’s 12 g!

THE GAMES NEVER STOP!!

There are SO many examples in everyday foods just like this, EET thinks you’d be shocked, and EET is on a mission to help you understand what REALLY matters when it comes to weight loss and fitness.

Today’s lesson:  EET says to choose Krispy Kreme over Pop Tarts EVERY TIME AT THE CORRECT TIME(S) if you want a treat AND to lose weight and love your food– organic or not!!!!

NOTE:  Not all Donuts have the same nutritional values, many can vary WIDELY — Most would still be a metabolic bargain compared to Pop Tarts and Muffins though (and you Bagel eaters better check your nutritional values too–SURPRISE! :-))
