Can EET Fitness Train a mother of 4 who wasn’t exercising at all to run a HALF MARATHON in LESS THAN 2 MONTHS?! Wendy just completed a 10k in 3 weeks on EET so we like our chances!
I want to let everyone know how great I feel after following the EET training program for just less than a month. When I started out, I was a bit overwhelmed and lacked the confidence needed to attempt any sort of distance run. Just this past Tuesday, I ran 6.25 miles in a little over an hour!
EETer Wendy, 40, March 1, 2012
Wendy can tell you, even Mr. EET was nervous about this EET half marathon challenge. EET has a 100% success rate for those who have used our half and full marathon training. But, Wendy is 40 years old, has not been running or exercising in general, has 4 small kids, has had an achilles injury in her background and her husband, a very successful M.D., is watching all of this quite closely. YIKES — is EET up to the challenge?
Give EET 90 days, and if you are in generally good health — EET can make it happen with just a few training runs–so let’s do this!
Wait, just after seeing her friend Superstar EETer Dr. Amy finish her 2nd half marathon Wendy has already signed up for The Dallas Rock and Roll Half Marathon on March 25, 2012? Just 2 months away!!!?? WHAT? Sheesh! Okay, EET is in– we can do this!!????????
TIME for EET to do it’s thing
So far so good with Wendy using EET Timing, 20-30 minute workouts and unique running training technique, this week she completed a 10 k (6.2 miles!) on just her 4TH TRAINING RUN.
Here’s a quick rundown since Feb 6, 2012 from Wendy herself:
WEEK 1 Uhhh, not such a great start.
Wendy decides to try WEET (Wendy’s version of EET 🙂 ) instead of EET and changes her first workout at the last minute–and of course she got sore and shin splints as noted in this
FEB 6, 2012 email:
Things have not gone to plan. Yesterday, I was not able to run, and today, I went to the gym to do the intervals on the treadmill and I started getting shin splints in my left leg and had to stop halfway through. Also, it seems a lot more difficult than what I anticipated. Is this a normal feeling or am I just too old and too out of shape?
WEEK 2 EET TIMING to the rescue!
EET rights the ship and gently guides Wendy to a nice little 4 mile run WITHOUT STOPPING! — literally over a 5k on her 3rd training run in about 15 minutes a mile–not too shabby coming from the couch 2 weeks ago! Wendy sent this
FEBRUARY 21, 2012 email:
Ok, I did the four miles in 1 hour. I ran all of it, except when I had to press the cross walk button on a couple of streets.
Thanks! I am excited and surprised at myself for being able to do it:))
Wendy (on right) with SUPERSTAR EETer Dr. Amy on Jan 29, at Crustacean – Beverly Hills, CA, to celebrate Dr. Amy’s completion of the Tinkerbell Half Marathon. BIG QUESTION – Where we going after your finish Wendy? Let me know cuz post race nutrition is VERY important to Mr. EET — GOTTA BE FUN! 🙂
WEEK 3 EET HALF MARATHON TRAINING AT IT’S BEST!
Wendy “shocks the world” with a 6.2 mile 10k run on just her 4th training run in under 13 MINUTES A MILE! — Wendy’s thoughts in response to Mr. EET asking if we could share on EET’s Blog:
MARCH 1, 2012
I want to let everyone know how great I feel after following the EET training program for just less than a month. When I started out, I was a bit overwhelmed and lacked the confidence needed to attempt any sort of distance run. Just this past Tuesday, I ran 6.25 miles in a little over an hour! (My pace was 12.49 per mile I think) Mr. EET Note: nearly 2 1/2 minutes per mile FASTER than last weeks 4 mile run!
All I can say is that I have more confidence now than before, and I feel great! I am planning to run my first half marathon on March 25 in Dallas!
