Above is a typical EET Weekly Timing Pattern – can you follow it and be happy at all times starting right now?  See how and why EETers choose HAPPINESS to be successful below.

Before each week starts, EETers set up weekly patterns NEVER to force themselves to follow them, but rather to guide them on the path to long term weight loss and fitness.  Think of it like putting appointments in your daily planner.  You don’t feel stress about writing a business meeting down, you write the TIME and the meeting info down to

INCREASE YOUR CHANCES YOU’LL BE THERE  AND ON TIME!

Yet, yo-yo dieters continue to resist this incredibly helpful step in losing weight painlessly, because they then feel forced or guilty when they don’t follow the day the exact way they planned it.    But a little common sense about TIMING can go a long way in curing that problem:

  • Do you feel stressed and guilty if you find you need to reschedule an appointment?
  • Do you quit your job when you show up late or don’t make a meeting at all?  (of course,  if you do this too often you might have a problem with your boss  🙂 )
  • Aren’t you better off trying to plan your week of appointments versus just hoping you show up at the right place at the right times?

TRULY SUCCESSFUL DIETING IN THE WORLD OF EET

How dieting and weight loss got so screwed up EET will never know, but it’s important that we stop playing the diet game the way yo-yo dieters do ASAP!  Not only because the “I have to do exactly what my plan says” DOES NOT WORK, but it  is simply a miserable way of life when it comes to eating and loving food.

So here’s how EETers should be evaluating their daily progress on their plan:

Today is the start of weekend EETing — will it be green check marks or smiley faces or both?  EET says both choices = success!

A GREEN check mark means we completed our EET Timing day pretty much according to schedule — nothing so original about that except , if EET has taught you anything you know to never use a RED checkmark under any circumstances! 

A SMILE is placed on a day that did NOT go according to original EET plan.  Why?  Because EET wants you to always remember why we EET food —

WE LOVE FOOD AND IT SHOULD MAKE US HAPPY AT ALL TIMES!

If eating food doesn’t make you happy, then why exactly are you eating it?  It’s a sure thing you’re not eating it for nutrition or survival, so why? 

Some common yo-yo dieter replies to EET’s approach along with EET’s basic reply are:

“I can’t control it.”

EET’s Reply:  You’re human and you love to eat, how is that a BAD thing?  No one who loves food the way EETers do can CONTROL it at all times, but we can certainly work on DELAYING it to the right times for weight loss and fitness.

“I eat in response to stress, pain, or some other emotional trigger.”

EET’s Reply:  Does eating beyond your plan in these situations produce an improved quality of life short or long term?  Does it reduce your stress, pain, hurt, etc. or simply distract you for a short time, and then leave you feeling guilty and worse than before you ate it?  How is that approach working out for you?

or

Once I start eating I can’t stop!

EET’s reply:  No yo-yo dieter can stop once they start because they are feeling like they are “off” their diet and are gonna stock up on food asap in order to get ready to go back “on” their diet tomorrow, or Monday or at New Years or whenever.

EET has no interest in seeing you suffer to prove you have willpower or discipline you clearly do not have (or you would have succeeded this way already!)  EET simply asks:  does your current relationship with food and your current eating timing patterns actually help you feel more happy?  Is it taking you where you want to go short or long term?

So, on The EET Fitness Plan, EVERY day should be a green check mark or a smiley face — sometimes both (you never know with metabolism)!  We work on never using any of these tools of the yo-yo dieter:
