Super Bowl Sunday Quiz – Gonna Deflategate Your Diet? ANSWERS (Not Weightwatchers, Nutrisystem)

See Answers below from yesterday’s QUIZ –  entire post is repeated in case you missed it.  Super Bowl Sunday –where diets go to die.   Will yours?   You’ve been avoiding all those decadent foods since New Year’s (or you’ve tried), and now comes a day on everyone’s calendar where it’s a sin not to eat them.  What should you do?  Take EET’s Quiz and see if you know what the world of EET Timing would most strongly recommend:

QUESTION:  The MOST important thing about your eating, exercise and activities on Super Bowl Sunday is that you:  NOTE:  In EET’s humble opinion there is only ONE correct answer:

A)  Make a comfortable plan and do the best you can (EET Guideline #14)

WRONG – While EET believes this is a great step towards building a diet you can stay with, and that you should definitely do this, it’s not the MOST important thing and that’s what the question asked.

B)  Set a calorie or point limit and stick to it

WRONG – EET wants you to NOT focus on calories or point limits — it’s a recipe for disaster when you’re at an event built around amazing food —  a VERY few people have successfully lost weight over 5 years this way (99 out of 100 GAIN weight for going on a calorie tracking based diet over 5 years)–but even those that do succeed do so at great cost to their quality of life.  Every single day is a risk of failure eating too many calories just because they enjoy food.  Do you really want to feel like a failure on Super Bowl Sunday?

1. Stay away from the Hot Wings

2. Stay away from the Queso Dip
3. Stay away from Cheese Burgers & Dogs
4. DO NOT DRINK BEER – even if it says “Light” on the front of it

Tips from Nutrisystem for Super Bowl Sunday

C)  Use common sense, keep portions the size of your fist and eat in moderation

WRONG – EET has no predefined portion control and then there’s Guideline #22 Ilovesupersizing….

D)  Time your eating exercise and activities to get the most from your metabolism to gain as little weight as possible (EET Guideline #8)

WRONG – again do this if you can, but we don’t want our primary focus metabolism and weight while we’re enjoying a social event — our focus should be on doing what makes us happy at all times….

E) BURN THOSE CALORIES!   Stay active — do exercise before the game and move around during and after the game

WRONG – EET wants you to NOT focus on calories eaten OR burned — it’s a recipe for disaster when you’re at an event built around amazing food —  a VERY few people have successfully lost weight over 5 years this way (99 out of 100 GAIN weight for going on a calorie tracking based diet over 5 years)–but even those that do succeed do so at great cost to their quality of life.  Every single day is a risk of failure eating too many calories or not burning enough just because they enjoy food and relaxation.  Do you really want to feel like a failure on Super Bowl Sunday?

Improve your bench

Try fitting in a few exercises – push-ups or Pilates – whenever possible, Anderson suggests. Drop and do 20 push-ups or a few Pilates hundreds during commercial breaks.   Tip from Weight Watchers Website

F)  Bring healthy snacks to someone else’s house for the game

WRONG – SO WRONG.  It reminds me of my early EET days when I would go behind restaurants to exercise before I ate a high carb meal.  It was embarrassing and obvious there was no way I would stay with it.  More importantly, obsessing about eating healthy (especially when there are NO unhealthy foods only unhealthy times) and weight loss at all costs does way more harm than good.

G)  Don’t go to the game so you can stay on your diet (if this is your answer, no offense but you need professional help)

WRONG – SO WRONG.  SO SO WRONG ON SO MANY LEVELS — seriously, sign up for EET if this is your answer.

H)  Feel no guilt, regret or resentment about all eating, exercise or activity decisions throughout the day
