How can there be skinny people with Type 2 Diabetes (or who develop pre-diabetes symptoms), high triglycerides, high cholesterol and more when those conditions are all so heavily linked with obesity?   AND, how can there be morbidly obese individuals who have NONE of these problems?  Genetics definitely doesn’t explain it all.

ANSWER:  STRESS

Part of EET’s stress management therapy is stress eating!  You read that correctly — people should not have a stressful relationship with food — EVER–that’s stressful, and stress is harmful.  But we don’t just randomly stress eat, either–that is also stressful.  How does EET manage stress eating?  How else — we TIME IT!

Guideline # 11  The Only Good Thing About Stress is Stress Eating

Ahhh, stress eating.  The ultimate “get out of jail free card” that allows yo-yo dieters to justify eating with reckless abandon.

You know what?  I agree!   Stress is the villain in this story, not the eating you do to reduce it.  The psychological and physical damage caused by stress is far more dangerous to your long-term goals than any food [62- 65].  Most weight-loss and fitness plans do all they can to discourage stress eating.  They might as well say, “Feel free to yo-yo diet whenever you feel stress.”  I found that approach extremely stressful.   So when I get really stressed (which is often these days), I give my body exactly what it’s asking for and embrace stress eating.  It’s always “on” my EET plan!

How have I made stress eating with EET a big part of my five year success story?   It only took one simple adjustment from Yo-Yo Jon’s guilt-ridden stress eating.   I time it.  Here’s how:

NY Times HEADLINE 2014 TIMING DIET Study is Cure For Obesity (MICE) -Uh… EET Timing For HUMANS since 2008!!

As I opened my 10th email forwarding me this study, I started just copying and pasting back,

“Thanks for the article – it seems like everyone on earth will have to discover timing for weight loss, fitness and health through some other means — and then, possibly people will realize I have been doing and teaching this since 2008.  Hopefully someday EET Fitness will catch its lucky break. Thanks for sharing.”

Once again it appears researchers are nearly 7 years behind EET’s curve of learning what truly works for weight loss, fitness, health and an amazing relationship with food.  But don’t blame them — it’s taken them 50 years to start to accept that everything they told dieters they HAD to do to succeed with counting calories,  painful exercise, food group and portion restrictions, the glycemic index and SO much more was WRONG (and they haven’t fully given up on it yet–when they finally do we might actually see a reversal in the obesity and diabetic crises!)

Results of the study:

  • Time-restricted feeding (TRF) confines food access to 9–12 hr during the active phase
  • TRF is a therapeutic intervention against obesity without calorie restriction
  • TRF protects against metabolic diseases even when briefly interrupted on weekends
  • TRF is effective against high-fat, high-fructose, and high-sucrose diets

EET Comments:  Metabolic timing is coming to a diet plan near you.  It’s likely to be when Oprah decides to try a Timing Diet as that seems to launch the public to try new things.  In any case, hopefully EET will be the leading source for answers as we have produced unprecedented results with JUST TIMING and no food or portion restrictions whatsoever for real live humans for nearly 7 years.

But, as EET predicts the future, we’ll add the following critical piece:   no matter how Metabolic Timing hits the mainstream–if you don’t learn and understand EET Behavioral Timing, you are WASTING TIME.   Hopefully that science backed key won’t take another 7 years for people to grasp–of course TIME will tell.  I’ll keep doing my thing in the meantime….

2014 JAMA Harvard Study Confirms EET: CARBS ARE CARBS BITCHES! PALEO GI BULLSHIT!

Results:  “In the primary diet contrast, the low–glycemic index, low-carbohydrate diet, compared with the high–glycemic index, high-carbohydrate diet, did not affect insulin sensitivity, systolic blood pressure, LDL cholesterol, or HDL cholesterol but did lower triglycerides from 111 to 86 mg/dL (−23%, P ≤ .001).”

Diets with low glycemic index of dietary carbohydrate, compared with high glycemic index of dietary carbohydrate, did not result in improvements in insulin sensitivity, lipid levels, or systolic blood pressure. In the context of an overall DASH-type diet, using glycemic index to select specific foods may not improve cardiovascular risk factors or insulin resistance.”

FACT: Broccoli over Orange Juice for Vitamin C & Weight Loss + 10 Weekly Diet Saving Recipes

  Orange juice has 3 times as many calories and 6 TIMES as many carbs than broccoli (assuming you only drink one cup of OJ).  Yet, which food do most people rave about for vitamin C?  What other myths are you buying into about what you NEED for weight loss and fitness?

Down with a cold or a flu?  Stay away from the orange juice and grab the broccoli.  That is, IF you’re interested in getting the nutrition you need, losing weight, controlling diabetes and general health.   The nutritional data says it all.  1 cup of Broccoli has over 100% of your daily requirement for Vitamin C, and all of 31 calories and 4 net carbs.  1 Cup of OJ checks in similar vitamin C (both are over 100%) but also has about 120 calories, and a whopping 26 net carbs!

Did you know drinking lots of orange juice is a great way to get fat and ramp up your blood sugar?  Basically, to get that Vitamin C you’re after, you’re eating a candy bar’s worth of carbs every time you grab a “healthy” glass of OJ.   Personally, I’ll take a cup of broccoli and a Reese’s Fast Break Bar, but hey, that’s just me. 🙂

EET Fitness  has never been more proud than to share this update from EET’s Diabetic Timing Diet Trial, which went for 12 weeks starting 1 year ago in March 2011, with quite a few of the participants being patients at South Tabor Dr.’s Clinic in Portland, Oregon.

1 Year later — MOST of the participants in the trial are still on their EET plans.  And unlike other weight loss studies where you consistently find THIS “Checkmark From Hell Pattern” which means all the weight loss and health benefits were lost:

I am a diabetic, I’ve never confessed to that before, my husband does not even know.  I feel like I am at an AA meeting and telling everyone that I am a alcoholic  Back to my story.  I called up Jon and we set EET in motion.  My glucose levels were around 300 or higher.  I could not get them down, no matter what I did.  I was at my wits end.  With his program I had immediate results, with regards to lowering my glucose numbers.  My weight was still an issue, but getting my glucose numbers down was more important to me.

I was shocked how fast they came down.  I stayed on the program, e-mailed Jon everything I put in my mouth daily.  When I had a problem Jon was on the phone to help me figure out what I was doing wrong.  Slowly the weight came off, very slowly.  It has always been hard for me to loose weight so I was not surprised.  I am on insulin and I figured that was part of my weight problem.

I was almost 180 pounds when I started the program, and in  a year  I lost my weight, I now weight 135 pounds, am off blood pressure medicine.  My glucose numbers are in the 90’s every day so I have decreased my insulin.  I still do the program.

I highly recommend the EET program.  It is not hard, does take a little patience, but Jon is there every step of the way.
